Pepper Sprayed Kid per the Today Show and Good Morning America

So the story goes, the 8 year old was on the bus, wasn't allowed to get his way, gets off the bus angry. This attitude then carries over to the classroom and progresses to get worse. He continues to meltdown to the point where he has thrown chairs at and threatened the teachers (who by now have blockaded themselves in a room and called the cops). The kid is outside with a sharp stick threatening to kill any of the teachers that come out. Once the cops arrive (this is the third strike, they have been called to deal with his outbursts before this time) he threatens to kill them. To get him under control, they used pepper spray on him to subdue him enough to get him into hand-cuffs to prevent further injury to himself or the others. Now the mom is pissed about how they, the cops, treated her son. Times before the cops talked the kid down, I think, being as this is his third strike - pepper spray was going easy, I think they should have tazed him. He would have an even greater understanding of what real world consequences will be, if he continues down this path of destructive behavior. I think if the mom charges the police with excessive force, they should make her pay for each call they responded to in order to calm down her son, so he didn't hurt himself or anybody else. I also think that the next meltdown where the cops are involved, they should show him what the tazer feels like.
